So on Monday, Addison took her first step. Right on the landing of Grandma and Grandpa's house. I let go of her hand and she took one little step and landed in a heap. We went upstairs and she repeated this feat for Grandpa. Later on, we were downstairs playing, and Addison had been walking around the coffee table (holding on, of course!), and she let go and took a couple steps all on her own. That's been it, however. Yesterday was a "no walk" day and today is much the same. She is getting braver when reaching for objects to hold onto though! We're so very proud of her!!
I had my first day of work yesterday - it was nice to get back into "library mode", but again, a little bittersweet - I totally miss you all at IPL!!! Everyone at Cambridge library seems pretty nice, and I think I will enjoy working there.
On another note, I think I may have placed my address book into storage. I'm getting ready to send out our Christmas cards and have no addresses! So if we had your address, or if we didn't and you still would like a card, please please please send your mailing address to: jywohl at gmail.com We would love to send you our Christmas letter plus a nice little winter pic of the three of us.

Addie's Page hosted by guest bloggers today!
Today, Addie's page is being hosted by her cousins, Rachel, Lauren and Katrina. Enjoy!! Hi, my name is Rachel and I am Addie's favourite, awesomest, coolest, best cousin. She practically drools over me! Addie caame over this weekend and we had fun, fun, fun! We made a gingerbread house, played inside and played in the snow. We didn't let Addie have any candy from the gingerbread house though. We just tortured her by making her look at it, stare at it and drool on it. I have noticed since she came over that she can crawl, make sounds, hug, "kiss", walk with someone holding her hands and pull herself up on anything. I hope you've enjoyed this post.Ta,ta!
Hi, I am Addie's fantastic cousin. My name is Lauren and I am the cute blonde in the picture. I went for a walk with Addison and I played with her a lot. Addison is really fun to be with. My favorite time with her was when I got to play with her. We played doctor and I made her be the patient. One of the times I was playing with her, I pushed her in a Mickey Mouse chair. She loved it!! In the afternoon we made a gingerbread house, except Addie didn't join in, because it would tempt her to eat the candy. I hope you keep reading this blog because I like to write on it. Cya
I am Katrina and Im 4. We like to laugh and play. We painted my nails but addison didn't do it with us, because she is too little. She has to be 2. Hippo is my stuffed animal. He is pink and I sleep with him. I played with Addison and we played doctor. I was the patient and so was Addie. Lauren was the doctor. We had fun. Bye bye!!

Hello from Kitchener!
So we are starting to get settled in over here in Kitchener. We moved out of the Barrie house on Saturday, but my father in law and I took one more trip on Monday...there was just a little bit more that we couldn't fit in the car on Saturday. Now the house is empty, and when I left, it didn't really feel like our house anymore. Addison has been loving all of the attention bestowed on her out here. Grandpa has a soft spot for Addie and takes her for walks all over the house. She points in the direction she wants to go, and away they go!!
Addison has done fairly well with all of the change going on. Last week she was teething, so it was a bit rough...the teething pain combined with the ever emptying house caused some chaos - she didn't really eat, sleep or drink much for the past few days, but it looks like we're back on track now!
Dan is enjoying his new job quite a bit, especially the commute! His previous commute from Barrie to Orangeville was about an hour, and now it is under 20 minutes :-) Don't worry Orangeville ladies, Dan still misses all of you, and it will take him some time to adjust to a new staff! He is considerably less tired when he gets home and he gets to sleep in a little bit in the morning. Throw in some of his mom's fabulous home-cooked meals and he has it made!
And finally, some more news - I have a job! I will be working part time as a reference librarian at the Cambridge Public Library. I'm really excited about this opportunity - I missed working in a library so much, but wasn't quite prepared to go back in a full time capacity. It will be a bit of a change from being a children's librarian, but I'm up for the challenge. The branch that I will be working at is a combination public library/high school library, so there will be some unique experiences working there, I'm sure. I start next week with my training, so hopefully all goes well.

The last Barrie post...
So this is it...I'm sitting on my office floor, typing away on my computer which is also on the floor, as the desk is in storage now. Not a very comfortable way to type, and certainly no longer a babyproof room with all these computer wires everywhere! Tomorrow we're off to Kitchener for the beginning of a new adventure.
I will be still updating the blog as regularly as I can, but my in-laws internet connection is of the dial-up variety, so uploading photos may not be an easy thing to do. So if any of my friends in KW have high speed, please let me know!!!
Thanks for all the well-wishes and thoughts and prayers over the past couple months; we've appreciated them so much! Everything is falling into place for us; the only piece of the puzzle still eluding us is a job for me. But even that is a possibility - I have an interview in Cambridge on Tuesday morning...so please be thinking of me that day :-)
Signing off in Barrie; next stop - Kitchener!

The beginning of the end...
The moving container is here. Dan's parents were out yesterday and we spent the day moving about half our worldly belongings in. So now we are down to the bare necessities until we move out on Saturday. It's nice to have the container for a few days to take the pressure off of getting everything done at once. Hopefully we have enough room for all our stuff; it's going to be a tight fit by the looks of it.

House, Winter, and a Happy Birthday Wish
We spent another couple of days in Kitchener and this time, we found a house! And it is crazy how the whole thing came about...now everyone sit down and get ready to hear a story from Miss Jennifer...
Our real estate agent in Kitchener is on holidays, so he had someone else take us around, so we looked at houses, and more houses...and no luck. When we got home, Dan's parents mentioned that a couple from their church (who are long time family friends with the Wohlgemuts) were thinking of selling and moving closer to their family out of province. The house was not officially for sale, but the couple invited us over "to take a look". When we got there and walked inside...we just knew! It is a very spacious 4 bedroom, large kitchen home that has been very well cared for over the years. It has a big back yard with some beautiful mature trees (which is what we were looking for!). And all of this was right within what we had budgeted for mortgage-wise! Oh, and it is so very close to a Taco Bell, which is the clincher for me! So as of now, we are in a verbal agreement, but will do more of the official paperwork when we move into the in-laws basement in a couple of weeks! We are so excited, even though in all likelihood it will be February when we move in...we can be patient though! Here are some pics of the front.

And now I have to tell you about the rude surprise waiting outside for us this morning in Barrie! SNOW!!! I'm not ready for this; isn't it only a couple of weeks ago we were basking in 20+ degree weather? It appears as though I will be posting some cute snowsuit pictures of Addison by the looks of things. We stood outside today and she seemed fairly mesmerized by the snow coming down. This is good timing though; the snow waited until AFTER our house sold. Today the buyers are having a home inspection done on the place, and by the end of the week everything should be official and we can pop open that bottle of champagne to celebrate!
And finally, Addison would like to wish her Grandpa S. a very happy birthday! She didn't get a chance to talk to him yesterday, which was his actual birthday, but this is the next best thing! Happy Birthday Grandpa!!

SOLD!!!
There's no sold sign on our For Sale sign yet, but last night we sold the house!! We were quite excited about that! It's not firm just yet, there's still a couple of standard conditions, but that should not be any problem at all. So tonight we are heading out to Kitchener once again, and will hunt for more houses tomorrow afternoon :-)
