So Big!

Just a quick note before the post begins - above is Addison wearing one of her cute new dresses and the one of the nekkid babies is the cousins just after a nice big piece of birthday cake...they enjoyed the cake much more than they enjoyed the bath!

It's been a while since I did a post just about Addison! Since we're not moving for another month and the holidays are over, here's my chance :-)

Addison took her first steps just over a month ago and up until around Christmas time only took a couple steps here and there and would fall on her cushy little bum. I think she took a few pages out of watching her cousin Jaclyn's book, as she is now racing around all over the place. She walks more than she crawls (though sometimes that is still more convenient for her). Addie still has that topsy turvy waddle that newly walking babies have. It is quite cute, especially when she tries to run...she still has a bit of work to do there!

She also learned this week how to play "So Big!" She will do it on command just about all the time and it works well for so much more than just so big - "How hungry is Addison?" "Soooo hungry!" "How happy is Addison?" "Sooo happy!" She raises her little hands way up high and is so proud of herself!

She has lost the "baby" look and really looks like a little girl now. It's kind of sad, but also pretty exciting. She's starting to communicate a little more with us and can be very persistant and stubborn, especially if things are not the way she wants them to be. Like tonight for instance, she was in the bathtub and wanted to stand up. That was fine with me, but she wanted to hang over the edge of the tub with a soaking wet wash cloth. I tried to wring it out a bit, but she got quite mad with me for taking her "stuff" away - and I was going to give it back!! She also makes multiple attempts to pull the paper away from Grandma each morning, thinking that one of these times it will be successful...and when it's not, she just keeps on trying!
